Event Planning Guide

There are various steps and departments to contact when planning an event at CUA. This guide will assist you in planning a successful event for the CUA community.

First, think about what will make this event great

Has an event like this ever been held before? If so, consult past files, as you may learn some helpful information. When planning your event, it is important to review and adhere to CUA policies. You can learn more by going to the Policies and Additional Services section in this guide. If you are planning this event as part of a student organization, please be sure to review the information found in the Student Organization Funding section of this guide.

Second, begin to plan

Determine a date, time, and preferred location. It is important to consult the academic and university calendars, as well as to ensure the date does not conflict with any other event(s). Consult to research available spaces and dates.

Third, request a space on-line

You can learn more about requesting a space, possible set-ups, audio/visual technology, and campus service providers by going to Requests and Forms in this guide.

Fourth, develop a marketing plan

Marketing is one of the most important pieces in event planning as you need to let the community know about your event. You can learn more about marketing your event by going to the Marketing section in this guide.
