About the Edward J. Pryzbyla Center
The Edward J. Pryzbyla University Center, completed in March of 2003, is located at the heart of the Catholic University campus and serves as a center for both the CUA community and campus visitors. "The Pryz," as it is has been nicknamed by students, is a favorite location for campus activities. The Pryzbyla Center Great Room has been the venue for a wide variety of events including concerts, live stage performances public forums and lectures. From Foosball and live music in the Food Court to Frisbee on the west lawn and Starbucks' Open Mike Nights there is always something fun and interesting to do at The Pryz!
On April 17, 2008, our most honored guest, His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, spoke to more than 500 invited guests in the Great Room and greeted cheering CUA students from the Pryzbyla Center steps. CUA has also entertained a variety of other notable guests in The Pryz, including clergy and church leaders and members of congress, as well as George Stephanopoulos, Jon Voight, Tim Russert and B. J. Novak.
The Pryz is home to student organization offices, the offices of the Division of Student Life, the Student Restaurant and Food Court, the CUA Bookstore, Starbucks, and the campus convenience store. Information Services is located on the second floor of the Pryzbyla Center. The Pryz also provides a variety of lounge spaces, computer kiosks and wireless Internet access for the CUA community and its guests, making it a popular spot for both study sessions and study breaks!
